The Cameroon Insurance Companies Association (ASAC) decided to build a new headquarters, and a restricted call for tenders was launched to select the architecture firm responsible for the project's full design and construction oversight. Our firm was selected as the winner, based on a design comprising a basement, ground floor, a mezzanine and four upper floors.

To meet the client's ambition for modernity, we designed this project around the following vision:

Given the narrowness of the site, we designed the building with an emphasis on transparency, using glazed curtain walls on the front and rear façades to create fluid air circulation.

We created generous setbacks from the façade plane to form shaded zones, in response to the area's high level of sunlight exposure.

Designed as a simple cubic form, the building is capped by a horizontal canopy that extends from the eastern wall, forming a kind of protective umbrella over the building — echoing the fundamental purpose of insurance itself.
